Who says only computer geeks build websites? You can, too, and you don’t even have to read tons of books or sign up for an endless parade of classes. All you need is Adobe Dreamweaver and tutorials like DreamweaverMadeSimple or any Dreamweaver book you can get your hands on.
Note, though, that video tutorials like DreamweaverMadeSimple make better learning tools than Dreamweaver books for the reason that you get to see first-hand how some processes are done. A Dreamweaver book would textually describe how to work with layers and switch on grids. DreamweaverMadeSimple would actually show you which buttons to click, where these buttons are, and what they’re for.
